Brake disc solutions

Disc Brakes

All vehicles are fitted with a brake system by equipped with disc type brakes or drum type brake. With the high power automobile increased on the road, many automobile manufacturers designed the disc type brake system instead of drum type brake system. The Disc type brake system guarantees weight reduction, simpler inspection and maintenance, and excellent brake deceleration. The developers of disc type brake system are paying increasing attention to safety, mileage cost and comfort. The balancing of the brakes is essential for the achievement of these objectives.

Brake Maintenance.

Friction between the brake pads and the brake disc causes heat and wear on both components. Optimum brake deceleration can be achieved only if both parts are completely flat and parallel. As soon as one of these components is replaced because of wear, the other must be adjusted to fit as well as possible to its new "partner.

Brake problems.

Every brake disc suffers from rust and distortion as a result of its materials - cast iron, influences like salt, temperature, moist, friction and chemicals, determine the wear, surface and form of the brake discs. There are three directly attributable causes:

Run-out is oscillation of the brake disc. This may be caused by tolerance in the brake disc and hub or by distortion of these parts by shock loads. The oscillation of the brake disc can be felt in the steering wheel. The brake disc and the brake pads are not in line!

Disc Thickness Variation.

D.T.V. is the difference in thickness of the disc measured at different points in the radial plane. This Phenomenon is the logical consequence of differences in material structure, run out and constant changes in brake conditions such as ambient temperature, humidity and load on materials. D.T.V. can be clearly felt in brake pedal. Once again, brake disc and brake pad are out of line!

Roughness of the brake disc surface leads to high or low frequency vibration of the brake components. The differences in surface structure do not conform to the manufacturer's specification and will result in excessive brake noise.

After a carefully investigation and comparation many experts suggest only by aligning the disc the problems are solved for good.

The Right Solution.

At normal situation drivers often replaced brake disc to eliminate the brake problems. Replacing the disc means dismantling and re-fixing by using the valuable time. In fact even after replacing the disc the same problems will often occurred again. HL-201 is designed to eliminate brake problems on car, that means no need dismantling and save valuable time, simultaneously with a perfect cutting result.

Advantages of Brake Disc Lathe

  1. Completely delete the bad result of Run-out, D.T.V. and excessive brake noise
  2. Saves valuable time by non-dismantling, re-assembly and adjustment of the brake disc
  3. Guarantees perfect adjustment between the brake pads and brake disc
  4. Be convenient to be used everywhere, both on a car lift or on the ground
  5. Assembly on the brake caliper ears with Universal Slide Mounting
  6. Suitable for most of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, with or without ABS

Advantages for your company.

  1. Provide customers a kind service of "one stop shopping"
  2. No need for stocking discs, because of repairing instead of replacing
  3. Maximum handle brake disc thicknesses could be 40mm.
  4. Long term investment without maintenance or calibration costs
  5. Minimum wear of parts, up to 30 alignments per tool bit, depending on the hardness of the brake disc (loss of material per brake disc adjustment < 0.1mm)
  6. No special training or service the equipment, every mechanic contribute to your profit.
  7. An upgrade of your workshops competence and service capability

Our products complies with the strictest international test specifications for workshop equipment. The product has been developed and manufactured according to the ISO9001 standard, and it has been approved by CE quality mark of Europe. Use of high quality electric components results in a constant quality level, this guarantees a surface roughness that is often better than a new disc. The DL-202, DL-602, DL-606 carries a one year warranty, covering defective material and workmanship.

Why not simply change the disc?

Obviously simply replace the disc means extra costs of dismantling and re-assembling the brake disc, and the necessity for precise adjustment. Sometimes even after machine the disc on a bench lathe a slight oscillation of the hub will continue to cause vibration and the run-out can't be eliminated yet. The situation is caused by the fitting error margin and the reason when the disc was manufactured. It usually has a slight oscillation error.
